701,509. Centrifugal pumps. HAYWARD TYLER & CO., Ltd., IVANOFF, V., and KING, R. E. Nov. 1, 1950 [Nov. 1, 1949], No. 27950/49. Class 110 (1) In a pump and motor combination in which the rotor of the pump 1 and the rotor of the motor (not shown) are mounted on a common shaft 2, and the' pump, motor and shaft are enclosed in a common casing B throughout which fluid intercommunication is afforded and within which are located the bearings 19 for the shaft, filter or baffle means 17 are provided to prevent any foreign solid matter passing from the pump to the portion of the common casing in which the bearings are located. The combination, as shown, is adapted to pump hot liquid at a high initial pressure, and the filter means comprise a porous baffle of woven asbestos or other fibrous material, capable of resisting the action of hot liquid.
