Abstract

701,495. Typewriter stands. LANDOLFI. T. Aug. 15, 1952, No. 20551/52. Class 52(3) A folding support for a portable typewriter comprises telescopic legs 9 pivoted to the base 1 of the typewriter or a board :secured thereto for limited rotation about a pin 19 at right angles to the base and about an axis 14 parallel to the base. The casing of the typewriter has its underside closed by a detachable cover 4 enclosing the legs when folded. The legs are hinged to the base 1 so as to fold upon it when collapsed and to take up a splayed position when erected. The cover 4 has side flanges 3 slidably engaging rails 2 on the sides of the base 1. A U-shaped slidable member 10 may be pulled out of the base to support the cover 4 at the side of the typewriter as shown in Fig. 3 for holding papers, &c. The legs 9 are held in extended position by a spring-pressed button 18 on one telescoping part engaging a hole in the other part.
