Class 4 An aircraft control comprises pedals 17 operating the rudder 12, and a hand wheel 14 operating the ailerons 10a and 10b. As shown in Fig. 1, direct manual control is used, but servo assistance may be employed. Either the controls or the adjustable surfaces operate members 20, 21, so that when the aircraft performs a banked turn to port or startboard, members 20, 21 rotate in the same sense. When the controls operate to produce sideslip, members 20, 21 rotate in the opposite sense, and one of rods 24 hinged to member 20, acts as a stop for member 21, preventing the controls from overbalancing, i.e. becoming aerodynamically urged to maximum displacement. Fig. 4 shows an alternative way of producing a stop by means of levers 33, 34 joined by a slotted link 35, and Fig. 3 shows a method where the axes of members 25, 26 are collinear, and a banked turn produces rotations in the opposite sense links 29, 30 being connected by a balance link 31 which co-operates with a slotted member. 32.
