Abstract

875,291. Controlling aircraft. EVANS, D. J. Sept. 22, 1959 [Oct. 6, 1958], No. 31875/58. Class 4. An aircraft comprises a rudder 16 on a vertical shaft 18 having an integral transverse lever 20, the ends of which are attached to rods, cables, or the like 36, 38 also attached to transversely pivoted levers 30 (one shown in Fig. 4) each working in an aperture 22 in the cockpit floor and coupled by pin and slot means 66, 68 to a rod 56 terminating in a pedal 60. Each rod is: attached to a piston 70 in a double acting centering spring box 48. The two rods or cables 36, 38 need not be crossed.
