700,881. Spray-producers. GAUCHARD, F. Aug. 9, 1951 [Aug. 11, 1950], No. 18760/51. Class Apparatus for producing a compound suspension of an aerosol and a mist of particles comprises a generator of aerosols, the output of which is connected to the atomizing gas input of a liquid atomizer or to the spraying gas input of a powder sprayer. An aerosol generator 1, Fig. 1, contains liquid 8, and compressed air fed through a passage 4 and outlets 6 atomizes the liquid drawn up through pipes 7. The liquid particles strike a baffle 10, and the larger particles are returned to the liquid 8. The aerosol passes through filters 12 and outlets 18 or 15 depending on the position of a sliding member 14 which may be forced downwardly against a spring 16. A tube 21 leads to an outlet connection 26, and a part of the aerosol in a gas stream is forced through annular passages 27 in the connector and liquid is forced up the tube to an atomizing nozzle, not shown, where the liquid is atomized by the aerosol laden gas stream. In Fig. 4 the outlet 15 of an aerosol generator 30 is connected 'through pipes 32, 33 to the containers 34, 35 of dissimilar liquids, and the liquids are forced through tubes 38, 39 to separate nozzles 51 where each liquid is atomized by aerosol streams delivered through pipes 42, 43, 46 and a hollow distributer 47. The outlet 71, Fig. 7, of an aerosol generator 70 is connected to a valve controlled four way connector 72 which connects with a pipe 74 for supplying the aerosol, a pipe 75 which connects with a liquid sprayer 76 to provide a mixture of an aerosol and spray particles, and to a pipe 80. The latter is connected to a powder container 81 to produce a mixture of an aerosol and powder.
