700,741. Closing cartons. SATONA, Ltd., and RENDER, S. June 9, 1950 [March 10, 1949], No. 6495/49. Classes 18 and 94 (1). The mouth of a carton is closed by a separate removable inner lid portion held in place by the carton closure flaps In one embodiment the inner lid consists of a member 5 placed over the carton mouth Closure flaps la are folded on to the corners 8 of these flaps which may have outwardly inclined edges, entering slots 7 between the member 25 and extensions 6, the extensions 6 being folded over the flaps la when the carton flaps 1 are inter locked. In a further embodiment, the inner lid has upwardly extending flanges and seats on a peripheral ridge within the carton mouth, flaps such as 6 extending from two opposite flanges and being interengaged between the closure flaps.
