Abstract

Esters of 21 - hydroxy - pregnene - (5) - ol - (3) - one - (20) are obtained by reacting 21-iodopregnene - (5) - ol - (3) - one - (20) of the formula <FORM:0700351/IV(b)/1> with a salt of an aliphatic carboxylic acid in a water-miscible solvent at a neutral to weakly acid reaction. As salt of the aliphatic carboxylic acid there may be used an alkali acetate. Specification 700,344 is referred to.
