Abstract
700,273. Cathode-ray tubes. INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION. Feb. 26, 1952 [June 19, 1951], No. 4992/52. Drawings to Specification. Class 39(1) A high voltage of high frequency is applied to the outer surface of a cathode-ray tube face bearing internally a secondary emissive screen, to remove imperfections, that is areas wherever the secondary emission ratio is different from that of the majority of the screen. The imperfections are first shown, up on an oscilloscope connected to a metal foil on the outer surface of the tube face. The foil is then removed and a probe connected to a Tesla coil is applied to the areas of the screen where the imperfections are located. The cathoderay tube is used in storage systems, the foil being retained to form the signal electrode.
