699,488. Bearings. SWINDELLS, F. N. Oct. 15, 1952 [Oct. 17, 1951], No. 24179/51. Class 12 (i). A dollhead bearing for steam-heated drying cylinders of calendering or other textile machines comprises a bush B of compressed fabric impregnated with a non-greasy non-oily lubricant and provided with longitudinal grooves b and an annular space b<SP>1</SP> formed by chamfering the end of the bush, and a cylinder C<SP>1</SP> having a hollow shaft C supported in the bush. Steam from the inlet passage a passes through the shaft to the cylinder, and also through the grooves b in the bush to a header D and a U-shaped packing-ring E to form a steamtight joint.
