698,357. Electromagnetic relays. RECORD ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd., and AINSWORTH, E. J. May 27, 1952 [April 6, 1951], No. 8010/51. Class 38 (v) In a moving-coil relay lost motion is provided between the moving coil 1 and the arm 14 carrying the moving contact 17 and the pointer 13 and a very small current through the coil is sufficient to take up this lost motion by bringing an arm 9 carried by the coil into engagement with an arm 15 and thereby closing an indicator circuit. The arm 14 with its shaft 10 is restrained by a spring 20 and a greater current is required to 'overcome the spring 20 and operate the pointer 13 and contact 17. The fixed contact 31 is adjustable over the scale by a button 33. The relay may be used to indicate when an engine is running at slow speed and to provide automatic control when the engine is running at normal speed.
