Abstract

Acid disazo dyestuffs are obtained by coupling one mole. of tetrazotized 2 : 6-diamino-chlorbenzene-4-sulphonic acid first in a mineral acid medium with one mol. of 2-amino-8-naphthol-6-sulphonic acid and then in weak acid or neutral medium with one mol. of another component containing not more than one sulphonic acid group. Examples show the use as second coupling component of b -naphthol, 2 : 4 - quinolinediol, 1 - phenyl - 3 - methyl - pyrazolone and cyclohexan-1 : 3-dione. The sulphonic acids of the first and third of these are also mentioned. The products are leather dyes. They still contain the chlorine atom of the tetrazo component.
