Abstract

697,397. Revolving radial-cylinder pump. MICHALITSIANOS, E. M. July 12, 1951 [July 19, 1950], No. 18044/50. Class 102 (i). In a revolving radial-cylinder pump, the cylinders 12 are carried by an annulus 4 connected by radial arms 3 to an outer annulus to which rotary motion is imparted. Each cylinder has a doubleacting piston 13 which is connected to actuating weights 16 by bolts 15 that pass through slots 14 in the cylinder. The pump is mounted adjacent a tank 17 and the cylinders are connected to a hub 11 revolving on a boss 20 so that liquid passes through passage 24 to the cylinders and is forced through the passage 22 to the delivery pipe 27. The annulus 4 revolves within a ring 5 that has an inlet port connected to a pipe 18, also connected to the tank 17, and an outlet port 28 leading to a delivery tank 29; the pressure in the tank 29 assists in supporting the annulus 4.
