696,569. Hydraulic shock-absorbers. ARMSTRONG'S PATENTS CO., Ltd., and ARMSTRONG, W. March 4, 1952, No. 5599/52. Addition to 670,128. Class 108 (iii). The invention of the parent Specification is modified by the provision of an axially - bored flanged collar 14, the flange 141 of which extends from the top of the inner cylinder 12 in the direction of the piston-rod guide 18, sealing means 26 extending between the flange 14<1> and the guide 18. As shown, the sealing means comprises a ring 26 disposed in a recess 14a of the collar 14. An annular projection 18h co-operates with the sealing ring 26. In a modification, Fig. 1 (not shown), the ring 26 is recessed into the guide 18 and bears on the face of the flange 141.
