Abstract
696,005. Sand-blast. ETABLISSEMENTS A. SISSON - LEHMANN. July 13, 1951, No. 16738/51. Class 60. A centrifugal machine for projecting granular material, e.g. shot or abrasive, comprises a rotor having blades 6 for projecting the material and resilient members 13 acting between the blades and transverse holders 8 to secure the blades. The members 13, of rubber or other resilient material, clamp the blades 6 against shoulders 9, Fig. 2, on the side plates 10 of the rotor. Guards 20, Fig. 6, preferably of rubber or steel, prevent the granular material from being thrown back onto the blades 6, 6a. The guards may be secured to bolts 11 clamping the members 13 and pass between strips 21, 22 fixed to the plates 10, or be fastened to the plates direct. In a modification, Fig. 3, the resilient member 14 is compressed between the holder 8 and the blade. In another modification, Fig. 5, an adjustable spring 17 in or on the holder 8 urges a plunger 16 into engagement with a notch in the blade 6. The material is fed to the blades through an outlet 5 in the rotor.
