Abstract

695,878. Securing glass sheets. THOMAS, S.. and THOMAS, B. A. Sept. 9, 1948 [Sept. 9, 1947], No. 16482/50. Divided out of 24797/47. Class 20(iii) A glazing clip made from resilient material such as sheet metal for securing and supporting two overlapping panes of glass to a glazing rail or bar with the panes in glass-to-glass contact at the overlap, is formed with a part d of U-section for securing the clip to a flange of an inverted Tee-section glazing bar c and with a part e which is bent up to lie against the web c<SP>2</SP> of the Tee-bar, a flange and a stop l being bent forward at right angles at one end of the part e. In use the lower pane of glass is passed up under the flange f until its upper edge abuts against the stop e. The upper pane is then placed on the lower pane with its lower edge abutting the flange f. A tongue g formed at the other end of the part e is then bent out over the surface of the upper pane to secure it against upward movement. Specification 615,646 is referred to.
