Abstract
695,776. Construction of pH electrodes. INGOLD, W. May 23,1952 [May 26, 1951], No. 13135/52. Class 37. The active end 6 of a glass electrode 2 is continuously cleaned by the up-and-down movement of a disc 13 of rubber or similar material attached by an arm 11 to a rod 7 reciprocated by a crank (not shown). The electrode 2 is mounted in a socket 5 through a rubber stopper 4 and screw-cap 3; the rod 7 is covered by a spring tube 10 or a stuffing-box, to produce the required seal.
