Abstract

694,831. Wringers. LOVELL MANUFACTURING CO. Aug. 9, 1951 [Aug. 10, 1950], No. 18763/51. Class 138 (ii). [Also in Group XXXIV] A clothes wringer has sleeves 24 of a thermoplastic artificial resin such as nylon on the ends of a roll shaft 9, the sleeves having a free turning clearance both on the shaft ends and in bearing blocks 10. The clearance between the shaft and sleeve is ordinarily greater than that between the sleeve and bearing block. The sleeve 24 has a flange 26 between the ends of the roll and the block 10 which is of wood. The blocks 10 of the upper roll of the wringer are secured to the ends 16 of a leaf spring 11 by means of inverted U- shaped clamps having sides 21 fitting into grooves 18 in the blocks 10 and notches 17 in the spring ends 16, and inturned hooks 22 engaging the lower ends of the blocks 10. The bearing blocks for the lower roll are half bearings, Fig. 4 (not shown).
