Abstract

693,721. Wrenches; pliers. PETERSEN, C. March 9, 1951, No. 5752/51. Classes 61 (ii) and 61 (iii). In a wrench having pivoted jaws, each of the co-operating jaw faces has a profile which when viewed from the side of the jaws is an ogee curve provided with transverse gripping ridges. The jaws 11 and 12 of a toggle operated wrench are each provided with a curved gripping face ABCD comprising a concave arc AB and a convex arc BD which approaches straightness between the points C and D, the part AB being toothed and the part CD knurled. The use of different parts of the jaws for gripping nuts and pipes of various sizes and for holding plates together is described. Specification 561,138 is referred to.
