Abstract

693,212. Unwinding finished thread. DEWAS, R. April 5, 1949 [April 8, 1948], No. 9247/49. Classes 120(ii), 142(ii) and 142 (iv) In a method of supplying finished thread from a rotated bobbin or package of finished thread " over the end through a thread guide, the bobbin or package is rotated so as to cause the thread between the bobbin or package and the thread guide to balloon and thus induce sufficient tension in the thread, without braking devices, to prevent the formation of kinks in the unwinding thread due to its twist. As shown the spindle 2 on which bobbin 1 is mounted is rotated by the belt 7 around the pulley 6, at a speed depending on the count and twist of the thread 3 so that the portion thereof between the bobbin 1 and the thread guide 4 " balloons " so as to prevent the formation of kinks.
