Abstract
692,976. Transformers and inductances. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 17, 1952 [March 16, 1951], No. 6838/52. Class 38 (ii). A spacer member 5, for use with electrical apparatus having a plurality of disc type coils 1, 2, 3 stacked in superposed relation about a common axis, has a radially extending portion 7 and an integrally formed axially extending portion 6; the axially extending portion being offset from the centre line of the radially extending portion so as to permit of an interfitting or nesting relation between adjacent vertically superposed spacers. Thus only one form of spacer is required, adjacent superposed spacers being rotated through 180 degrees so that the axially extending portions of the spacers do not interfere with -one another. Besides spacing the coils from one another, the spacers also serve to separate the coils from the surrounding insulating cylinders, such as 4.
