Class 89 (ii) Screws for use in wood-wool slabs have the helical part of the shank specially formed to obtain a grip on the cellular material The thread may be of a diameter large as compared with that of the core 3a and the short shank 3, Fig. 1. In modifications the shank is a helix formed from wire of circular or oval cross section. In each case the end of the helix is sharpened to a point. The head may be as shown or may be polygonal. Specification 676,385, [Group X], is referred to. Hooks; screw eyes.-According to the Provisional Specification the head may be replaced by a hook or an eye.
