Abstract

648,437. Screws. WILCOX & CO., Ltd., E., and WILCOX, E. Sept. 29, 1948, No. 25333. [Class 89(i)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A clamping screw d primarily for use in the fuse described in Specification 629,524, [Group XXXVI], has part of its screw thread formed as a helical spring a each convolution of which carries a single thread. The spring thread may be a B.S.W. thread and convolutions are cut at c to standard profiles and their ends flat, convex or concave. A vent hole b<3> may be provided in the screw head b. Instead of the spring and the screw shank being integral, the head may embrace one end of the spring or the spring may be affixed on a spigot on the head, Figs. 1, 2 (not shown).
