Abstract

544,441. Reinforced concrete. ROTHSCHILD, E. July 10, 1940, No. 11509. [Class 20 (iv)] Re-inforcement consists of a unitary metal rod having a waisted cross-section which is twisted and stretched throughout its length. The lobes of the rod may be of circular, square, triangular or other shape. A trefoil arrangement may be used. The pitch of the twist is between six and eight times the maximum diameter of the rod. Increased adhesion may be obtained by threading plates on the rod. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 474,422 and 492,760.
