Abstract
691,416. Miners headlamps. DOMINITWERKE GES. Dec. 5, 1950 [Jan. 30, 1950], No. 29703/50. Class 75(iv) In an electric lamp comprising a reflector head carried on headgear and a battery carried on a belt, a bulb holder 19, a contact member 20 between the bulb and the supply leads, and a rubber grommet 2 are successively disposed in a tapering sheath or casing 1 by means of a ring member 4 threaded into the sheath or casing. A reflector 5 also engages the screw thread on the sheath which is provided for the ring 4 and this permits the focus to be adjusted. The reflector 5 is locked in position by an arm 10 which is connected to the sheath 1 and which engages between two parts of a screw-lock 9 having a magnetic lock for the screw. The screw-lock 9 is connected to an annular rim 8 by which protective glasses 6 and a rim 7 are secured to the reflector. The bulb holder is connected to a battery by a cable 3 which passes through the grommet 2. The battery is contained in a box 12 and the cable is connected to a rotatable switch mounted in the lid of the battery box. The switch comprises a rubber grommet 14 through which the cable enters and a contact member 13. These are held in a rotatably mounted sleeve 11 by a threaded annular ring 15. Parts of the grommet project through-slots in the sleeve to prevent relative rotation. The member 13 to the contacts of which the cable is connected can engage leaf springs 17 connected to the battery terminal and these springs are mounted on a member 16 arranged so that the switch contacts are in a compartment separated from the battery.
