Abstract

690,167. Knitting-machines. DUBIED & CIE SOC. ANON., E. Sept. 14, 1949. [Oct. 9, 1948] No. 23721/49. Class 74 (ii). Reciprocating elements 8 have pivoted to their upper ends spring-biased, hooked draw-off members 9, which ride over the fabric 5, on their upstrokes and draw it off on their downstrokes : a strip 18, rockable about a shaft 20 by the arms 19, is urged clockwise by springs 22, during the up-strokes of the elements 8, to clamp the fabric against a member 16, and is rocked anti-clockwise, by members 26 on the shaft 20, to release the fabric during the downstrokes of the elements. The shaft 20 is rocked in one direction by the machine drive, through a link 27 and is returned by a spring 21. The members 9 are guided by teeth on, or through slots in a strip 17 and the upper end of strip 18. The return springs 11 of the elements 8 are adjustable by choice of notch 13 for their abutment pins 12 and the springs 22 by set screws 24. The members 9 bear each a plurality of draw-off hooks ; or individual take-off hooks may be provided.
