688,990. Identifying cables. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Dec. 14, 1951 [Dec. 20, 1950], No. 30996/50. The dates March 27, 1951, [March 28, 1950] were given under Section 53 of the Acts, being that of 688,278. Class 36. An identification ferrule for a cable end comprises interfitting components consisting of two tubular portions 1, 3, so dimensioned that the portion 3 fits into the portion 1 of an adjacent component, the adjacent components being locked against relative rotation. The portion 1 may have an internal recess 2 or rib which corresponds with an external rib 4 or recess on portion 2. Alternatively, cooperating projections and recesses may be formed on the meeting surfaces of adjacent portions 1. An end component 6 may be provided which consists only of a part to fit over the end 3 of the preceding component.
