Abstract

Class 39(iii) [Also in Group XIII] In drying apparatus in which granular material passes by gravity down a perforated tube 1 surrounded by a heater tube 3 spaced from the tube 1, the heater tube 3 is of high resistance metal alloy heated by the passage of an electric current supplied through a transformer having windings 4, 5. An insulating covering 7 surrounds the tube and an asbestos baffle 19 prevents excessive updraught in the annular space.
