Abstract

688,564. Two-part couplings. GOODFELLOW, W. L. Sept. 20, 1951 [Sept. 21, 1950], No. 23130/50. Class 38 (i). A plug-and-socket connector comprises a catch C, having a hook c<SP>1</SP>, mounted on the wall of the socket B by means of a screw c, and a slot d formed in the wall of the plug A and coinciding with the catch C, the slot d having a depression d<SP>1</SP> at its end. When the plug A is so far pulled out of the socket B that the contacts are disconnected, the hook c<SP>1</SP> will be engaged in the depression d<SP>1</SP>, the catch C now holding the plug and socket in these relative positions. The earthing contact a<SP>3</SP> may have a spring-pressed ball co-operating with recesses in the socket at the two positions of the plug. The Specification also refers to the plug-pins having insulated ends.
