688,262. Grilling-stoves. CANNON IRON FOUNDRIES, Ltd., and OATLEY, A. F. Sept. 8, 1950 [Sept. 13, 1949; Feb. 14, 1950], Nos. 23573/49 and 3705/50. Class 126 A grilling appliance has a pivotally mounted gas heated grill which can be stowed in a vertical position and supported in a horizontal operative position, and an open-fronted housing for the grill with a food support hinged to a lower part of the housing. A grill is mounted in an openfronted housing 11 above the splash plate 10 of a cooker, one of the side walls 12 of the housing extending sideways in front of the burner entry point. A food support 14 is pivoted at 13 so that is be swung up to close the front of the housing. The burner 15 is pivoted about supply iet 16 and trunnion 17 and the fret 19 lies to one side of the burner axis. Vents 29 are provided in the back of the housing. The food support 14 and grill fret 19 are connected to linkage 20, 21 according to Specification 675,974 so that the grill moves to an operative position when the support is swung down. The gas supply cock 30 has a drop handle 31 of such length that the housing cannot be closed when the gas supply is turned on. In one modification, Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), the burner is fixed and the fret rotates about a bearing at one end of the burner and a trunnion secured to the housing. In a further modification, Figs. 6, 7, 8 (not shown), the burner and grill fret lie on opposite sides of the axis about which they turn, the burner axis being only slightly offset from the axis of rotation.
