687,933. Gas filters. VOKES, C. G. July 13, 1950 [Sept. 28, 1949], No. 24917/49. Class 8 (ii). In an air filter of the oil-bath type having a scrubber 4 of generally cylindrical shape located with its lower part in the oil bath and surrounding a wall 6 carried up sufficiently far to serve as an inner wall of the bath, the scrubber 4 extends from the bottom of the oil bath to immediately beneath the top cover 2 of the cleaner. The scrubber 4 comprises a star-shaped element formed of pleated layers of wire gauze with or without intervening textile or other filtering material. In a modification the scrubber is tapered inwardly towards the bottom.
