Abstract
687,123. Knitting-machines. WILDT & CO., Ltd. Dec. 18, 1950. No. 30770/50. Class 74 (ii). To enable the loops of the initial course taken by the welt hooks to be readily returned to the respective needles of a straight-bar machine, a member 3 is positioned adjacent to but spaced from each welt hook 1. except for the top portion 11 which engages in a recess in the hook, between which and the welt hook the needle is received so as to enable the loop which is spread over the member 3 and shank of the hook 1 on the return movement of the hook to be pushed down over the beard of and on to the needle. The leading portion of the stem of each welt hook is laterally offset so as to be in longitudinal alignment with the space between the welt hook and the member 3.
