Abstract
687,065. Razor blade magazines. HEIDE, H. C. (Gillette Safety Razor Co.). Oct. 19, 1950 [July 20, 1949; Aug. 16, 1949], Nos. 19137/49 and 21341/49. Class 18 A razor blade magazine has a resiliently mounted locating bar passing through the slots in the blades and yieldingly retarding their exit movement. In one embodiment the bar 4 is pivoted as at 5 and urged towards the magazine top by a spring 7. A blade being projected by finger pressure slides up a curved surface 9 on the bar, as the latter is depressed by the finger, and is located in its outward passage by a projection 11 passing through its slot. In other embodiments (not shown) the bar may have an upward projection for locating an issuing blade or a projection may be provided on the magazine top in front of the blade stack, an issuing blade sliding down the projection until the latter enters its slot. The curve 9 may be shaped to provide varying resistance to the forward movement of blades at different levels or this may be achieved by having a different friction coefficient at different portions of the curve. The invention may be applied to magazines having feed slides. Specification 647,820 is referred to.
