Divided out of 686,753. Class 106 (v). A float-valve-controlled measuring tank 1 has arranged therein a float 2 which is adjustable to any desired level according to the amount of liquid to be measured there being a minimum clearance between the wall of the float and the tank, so that the difference in the volume of liquid admitted owing to variations in supply pressure is reduced to a negligible quantity. The ratio between the clearance and the float diameter may be up to 1: 150. Where the float is a sliding fit in the tank. a tube extends between upper and lower sides of the tank to allow passage of liquid. The float is threaded on to a valve rod 3 and moved vertically by rotation of the rod by the wheel 5 and gears 6, 7. Specification 686,753 is referred to.
