686,788. Locking valves. WHITEHOUSE & CO., Ltd., W. April 16, 1951 [April 15, 1950], No. 9301/50. Class 135. A gas cock of the rotary, conical plug type is locked in the closed position by engagement of projections 146 on an actuating knob 14 with slots (not shown) in a member 12, the knob being urged outwardly by a spring 15. The knob is keyed to an extension of the plug by inwardly facing projections 145 engaging keyways 111, and a screw 161 retains the knob when, in the closed position of the cock, the projections 146 are urged outwardly into the slots.
