686,681. Bridge circuits. WILKINS, S. R. Nov. 6, 1950 [Nov. 8, 1949], No. 28616/49. Class 37. [Also in Group XXXV] A bridge circuit for measuring the conductivity of a solution comprises two fixed resistances 10, 11 as two arms, a cell containing two spaced electrodes 13 in the solution 14 to be measured as a third arm, and a calibrated resistance 15 as the fourth arm, and is characterized in that a condenser 17 is connected across a portion of the fixed resistor 10 by a slider 16 on this resistor, the slider being mechanically coupled to the slider of variable resistor 15. A thermistor 18, submerged in the solution 14 under test is connected in parallel with resistor 10 to compensate for temperature variations. The out-of-balance current may be used to obtain automatic control of the concentration within specific limits.
