Class 59 A roller mill arrangement including a fixed roll, and a loose roll adjustable relative thereto, is characterized in that the loose roll is movably but inflexibly supported in such a way that it can turn round an axis disposed at right angles to the roll axis, and is adjustable by hand or automatically. An adjustable roller 2 is mounted in bearings 3 and carried by levers 4 hinged at one end 4<SP>1</SP> and linked at the other end by links 5 to arms projecting from a shaft 6. This shaft is journalled in bearings 8, 9 in a member 7 and is adjustable about its axis by hand-wheel means 17 to effect parallel adjustment of the roll 2 relative to a co-operating fixed roll 1. The member 7 is journalled in fixed bearings 14, 15 so arranged that the axis of rotation of the member 7 intersects that of the member 6 at a small angle at their centre points. Movement of the member 7 about its axis thus causes an eccentric movement of the shaft 6 whereby the links 5 cause the grinding clearance at one side of the rolls to be increased and at the other side to be reduced.
