Abstract

684,966. Bearings. GAUNT, RHODES & BOWER, Ltd. March 15, 1951 [March 15, 1950], No. 6460/50. Class 12 (i). A footstep bearing 1 for textile spinning and like spindles is composed of plastics material and the outer profile is of two-diameter shape providing a shoulder 2, the interior 3 of the bearing being dished and provided with an axial bore 4 which terminates in an inverted conical portion. A small diameter lubricant bore extends from the apex of the conical portion. The bearing is mounted in a hole 6 in a support 7, and the shoulder 2 normally rests on the top surface of the support 7. Three grub screws 8 are provided in the shoulder 2 for raising and adjusting the bearing.
