683,910. Washing-machines. LIGHTBOURNE, R. C. March 29, 1951. [March 31, 1950] No. 8121/50. Drawings to Specification. Class 138 (ii). A clothes-washing machine comprises a container element for the washing liquid, a liquid agitator element and means for imparting rotation to one of the elements so as to cause it to rotate relative to the other to perform a washing action, the means for imparting rotation to one of the elements embodying a friction clutch through which the drive is transmitted from a power source such as an electric motor, the engagement and disengagement of the clutch being manually controlled. The machine described is identical with that described in Specification 683,909 but the claims differ.
