Abstract

683,256. Filters. ETABLISSEMENTS A. GUIOT. Jan. 1, 1951, No. 107/51. Class 46 [Also in Group XXVII] In a filter comprising a chamber 2 connected by a conduit to a source of liquid fuel and separated by a filtering element, e.g. a metallic sieve 3, from a chamber 7 connected by a conduit to a carburetter, the flow of fuel is controlled by a valve, e.g. a ball 9, operated by a deformable or movable element such as a diaphragm 13 or a piston, one face of which is subjected to the pressure of the fuel supplied so as to tend to close the valve, the other face being acted upon by the pressure of a spring 16 of adjustable strength to open the valve. In a modification the valve orifice is controlled by the pressure of the fuel leaving the filter and is situated on the downstream side of a filter cartridge in the chamber 2.
