Abstract

683,255. Dashpots. BRITISH UNITED SHOE MACHINERY CO., Ltd., MAKOVSKI, S. A., and RIVINGTON, A. A. Sept. 7, 1951 [Dec. 28, 1950], No. 31448/50. Class 108 (iii). A resilient mounting for a machine comprises a base member 31 having a cylinder 33 in which is slidable a piston 53 having a fluid-flow passage 55, the lower bearing 39 of the piston-rod being closed at one end, there being a passage 61 for the escape of fluid trapped between the end of the rod and the closed end of the bearing. In the construction shown, the passage 61 is disposed in the piston-rod 41. Damping is provided by both passages 61 and 55. An L-shaped bracket 49 acts on the rod 41 through an adjustable screw 51 and is connected to one corner 47 of a shoe-making clicking-press. Liquid is replenished through a plug 65.
