Abstract

683,178. Centrifugal-separators. KLOCKNER - HUMBOLDT - DEUTZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 27, 1950 [Nov. 26, 1949], No. 28928/50. Class 23 A strainer separator comprises a screen 8 rotatable about a vertical axis and resiliently supported by an intermediate member 6 which is resiliently supported from the drive shaft 1, and an impluse generator imparting axial oscillations to the member. The member has vanes 16 and constitutes an impeller for material fed to the separator. The member is oscillated by electromagnets 14, and is supported by rubber blocks 7 on the drive shaft. The drive shaft is rotated on radial bearings and a thrust bearing on a stub shaft 2 by belts 4 protected by a tube 18. The oscillations of the member are transferred to the screen by rubber blocks or springs 9.
