681,491. Supporting microphones. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. July 13, 1951 [July 14, 1950], No. 17659/50. Class 40 (iv). [Also in Group XXX] A microphone standard is raised or lowered through an aperture in a stage by means of a balanced rope and pulley system. In the wings of the stage, a manually-actuated slider 24 mounted on a tube 22 and carrying weights 26 to counterbalance the microphone and its standard 1 actuates by means of a cable 10, fixed pulleys 19, 17, 15 and movable pulleys 23, 9, the standard 1 which is guided by two pairs of rollers 8. A fixed cable 12 passing through an aperture in a lug 14 secured to the standard 1 prevents twisting. The microphone may be retractable beneath the stage and the aperture be provided with doors. One pair of the rollers 8 may be replaced by a single spring-loaded roller.
