Abstract

<PICT:0680202/III/1> A pasting or glueing machine of the kind in which there is mounted in a framework a number of parallel rollers adapted to transfer the pasting and glueing material from a receptacle in which the material is contained to a coating roller from which it is applied to the object to be coated, comprises a pressure roller mounted parallel to the coating roller and adjustable so that the separation between the coating roller and the pressure roller may be predetermined and conveying means the position of one end of which depends on the position of the pressure roller, the conveying means serving to carry the coated articles from the machine. Referring to the drawing there is shown a receptacle 4 for coating liquid and rollers 5 and 6 transferring the liquid to coating roller 7 under which is arranged a roller 9 moveable in a vertical plane by a device consisting of two arms 10 pivoted at 11 and acting on supports 12 of the roller 9, the supports being moveable in grooves 15 and being urged upwards by springs 14 and held down by screws 13. A member 16 connected directly or indirectly to the supports 12 both supports the articles to be coated and conveys them to the space between rollers 7 and 9. Excess material is removed from roller 5 by scraper 20. The conveyer member may comprise two coating rollers which both sides of the article may be coated by immersing roller 9 also in coating material.
