Abstract

<PICT:0972565/C1/1> Apparatus for sponging pottery blanks comprises an endless band guided over two rollers and provided with projections in the form of burls or strips of sponge or foam material, the endless band being disposed above a rotatable spindle adapted to receive the blanks, the longitudinal axes of the two rollers lying in a horizontal or inclined plane. Fig. 2 shows endless band 3 guided over rollers 1 on which band strips of sponge material 4 are fastened. The band passes through water filled trough 2 and between pairs of squeezing rollers 5, 6. The pottery blanks are brought up to the damp strips hanging down by means of vertically adjustable spindles (not shown).
