678,976. Doors for passenger vehicles. DUPLE MOTOR BODIES, Ltd., and HAYWARD, P. J. May 1, 1951 [May 4, 1950], No. 11046/50. Class 103(ii) A passenger road vehicle of the type wherein the front of the body extends ahead of the front wheels and the passenger entry door is located between the front of the body and a front wheel arch is provided with an inwardly opening hinged passenger door characterized in that the closing edge of the door and the closing post of the door frame are raked rearwardly and upwardly for the whole or a portion of the height thereof. The upper portion 21 of the body front panel 20 is raked rearwardly and the door 15, which swings inwardly and is hinged at 22 to the front pillar 23, is raked back along its closing edge 28 to ensure that over its whole height the minimum statutory width is maintained. An intermediate step 19 is provided in the door entrance between the entry platform 18 and the floor 16 of the vehicle.
