Abstract

808,085. Doors. DAIMLER-BENZ, A. G. Aug. 7, 1956 [Aug. 5, 1955], No. 24220/56. Class 20(3) [Also in Groups XXV and XXXII] A folding door for a motor passenger vehicle comprises door leaves 5, 6 joined by a hinge 10 having flaps 18, 20 extending continuously for the entire height the door leaves and forming abutting side frame members thereof. The door leaf 5 is hingedly supported at one side on a post 7 fixed to the vehicle body and its outer and inner skin plates 15, 12, respectively, are secured at the other side to the transverse portions 25, 27, of the F- shaped hinge flap 18, the stem 26 of which covers the side edge of the door leaf. The leaf 6 is of similar construction and terminates in an end frame member 8 carrying a rubber buffer strip 9. The leaves are fitted with windows 13a, 13b, and the leaf 6 has a sunken handle 14 on its inner side.
