678,429. Refrigerators. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. March 20, 1951 [April 4, 1950], No. 6648/51. Class 29 The refrigerant tubing 5 disposed adjacent the wall of a refrigerator cabinet in the space between the inner and outer walls 3, 2 is urged into heat exchange engagement with the wall by compressible heat insulating material 7 acting upon a sheet 6 of flexible heat - conducting material contacting the tubing. The invention may be applied to the evaporator tubing adjacent the exterior of the liner 3 or the condenser tubing adjacent the interior of the outer casing 2. The sheet 6 may be aluminium foil with a highly reflecting surface, and the insulating material compressed spun glass. The sheet 6 contacts the wall 3 between the tubes 5 and assumes a somewhat parabolic shape so that heat radiating from the wall is directed towards the tubes.
