Abstract

678,356. Water supplies. SULZER FRERES SOC. ANON. March 2, 1951. [April 29, 1950] No. 5063/51. Class 68 (i). [Also in Groups XXVI and XXVIII] In a drinking water supply system a low pressure pump 1 is arranged to force water at a relatively low pressure through a closed filter 4 and thence to a high pressure pump 5 which pumps the water into the consumer network or into an elevated reservoir through a valve 9 preferably a non-return valve, and a pressure relief device is provided for limiting the maximum pressure in the filter 4. The pressure relief device, which may be either an open stand pipe or a pressure actuated relief valve 11, is situated in the system either on the filtered or unfiltered side of the filter and the pumps may each have a separate drive or a common drive.
