678,028. Bending - formers. TUBELA ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., AHLIN, F., and. RIDEALGH, H. Feb. 21, 1951 [March 1, 1950], No. 5148/50. Class 83 (iv). A former for a reciprocating bender comprises a curved split member C, C<SP>1</SP> with straight sides C2 inclined at an angle of 25- 40 degrees co-operating with inclines on a member A pressed by a ram B. After bending the tube is ejected from the former by inserting a tool through slots in the member A to lift the split member C, C<SP>1</SP> from the member A. A former of similar construction may be used as a straight sided shoe for insertion between a roller pressure member on a hinged arm and a grooved former of a pivoted bender.
