604,723. Angular bending; formers. PRING, J. J. Dec. 3, 1945, Nos. 32567/45 and 32391/46. [Class 83 (iv)] A sweep arm bender for tubes comprises a clamp 2 for the tube, a sweep arm 10 with roller 11 contacting the tube and a former 5 rotated from an electromotor 9. The sweep arm is rotated by engagement of a hole 14 and the former carries rollers 4 with grooves of similar or dissimilar circular or elliptical crosssection. The former is rotated in the opposite direction to the sweep arm in order to smooth out wrinkles.
